The House of Representatives Minority Caucus has congratulated the Speaker of the Lower Chamber, Rep. Tajudeen Abbas, as he marks his 59th birthday.
This caucus, in a congratulatory message issued by the Minority Leader, Rep. Kingsley Chinda (PDP-Rivers), on Wednesday in Abuja, applauded Abbas on his commitment to nation building.
Chinda congratulated the speaker on the conferment of the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on him by President Bola Tinubu
He said that the leadership and members of the caucus joined colleagues and associates to felicitate with Abbas on the double celebrations.
The minority leader described the award as a confirmation and a testimony to his exceptional leadership style in piloting the affairs of the green chambers.
“We are happy that since his emergence as the 15th Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, his unapologetic commitment to nation building and national development has been recognised by the Federal Government.
“Given his broad-based, all-inclusive, and servant-leadership style of governance, the award bestowed on him is a worthy and fitting endorsement of his unique, and enviable attributes.
“For us, the ‘double honours’ celebrations of Speaker Abbas birthday anniversary and national awards represents glowing testament to the continued legacy of service to the country.
“This is a testament of an unusual intellectual-politician who exhibits transparency, fairness, hard work, discipline and altruism at all times,” he said.
Chinda said that the caucus also felicitated the Deputy Speaker, Rep. Benjamin Kalu, on his conferment of Commander of the Order of Niger (CON) on him by the president.
