From Bode Durojaiye, Oyo

A leading pharmaceutical industrialist, Chief Festus Adebowale Omotoso, has been kidnapped.
Omotoso, who is the National Life Vice-President of NACCIMA, was reportedly kidnapped on Wednesday night at his home town, Awe, in Afijio Local Government, Oyo State.
He was said to be holding a meeting with some chiefs in the community when a three-man gang, armed with guns, stormed his residence.
Omotoso, who is also the Otun of Awe, was said to have just
returned from overseas trips.
The kidnappers, it was learned, tricked the gateman to believe they were launderers who came to return the chief’s clothes before gaining entrance into the house.
The gateman was forced by the kidnappers to lead them to where his boss was at gun point.
On getting to the inner room, all the chiefs, who were in a meeting with the industrialist, were ordered to lie faced down, while Omotoso’s eyes were tied with a cloth before he was
taken away into the awaiting vehicle outside the residence.
When our correspondent visited the residence located at
Gaa area in the town, scores of residents were seen in sad mood.
Some of the residents confirmed that they heard sporadic gunshots fired into the air on that day, but did not know what was happening.
Meanwhile, the police have waded into the matter, as some arrests were said to have been made.
