Kwankwaso to Kano foreign students: To sustain your scholarship, vote APC

Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State has told Kano State students enjoying his administration’s foreign scholarship to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 28 and April 11 elections.
He also advised their parents to do same, so that their academic pursuits will not be terminated midstream.
The governor made the call during a meeting with some of the 734 students in New Delhi, sponsored by his administration for mostly post-graduate programmes in India.
Kwankwaso maintained that should any party, other than the APC win the gubernatorial election in Kano, their scholarships will be withdrawn, thereby rubbishing their dreams and retarding the educational development of the state.
“So far, we have spent over N14 billion on the foreign scholarship which is far more than what any state government or even the Federal Government has spent on overseas scholarship award. You must not allow this effort to be in vain,” the governor asserted.
He stated that the visit was to monitor the progress made by the students and their challenges for possible remedy, pointing out that so far, he is impressed with their performance, urging them to keep the spirit alive.
The Kano State students in India are part of the 2,650 sponsored by the Kwankwaso administration to study in various universities in 14 countries in the last three and a half years.
Kwankwaso, accompanied by the Nigerian Ambassador to Malaysia, earlier held a similar session with 229 Kano State-sponsored students in Malaysia at The Banque Hall of the Royale Chullan Hotel, Kuala Lumpur and another 59 in China.
The governor was accompanied on the week-long trip by some state officials.
