Reporters were sent out of the court room on Monday at the venue of the trial of the embattled Nollywood actor, Olarenwanju Omiyinka, alias Baba Ìjẹ̀sà, accused of child molestation.

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, who presided over the case at the Lagos State Special Offences Court, Ikeja, who adjourned trial till Tuesday, directed reporters out of the court, when the court was about to watch a video brought as part of primary evidence against the embattled actor.

Counsel for comedienne, Adekola Adekanya, also known as Princess, came with the video.
The video clip was said to have captured Baba Ijesha while allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl in the care of Princess.

Baba Ijesha, actress Iyabo Ojo, and other supporters of the parties were amongst the people in court as Princess told the judge how she met Baba Ijesha and how the actor allegedly sexually assaulted the minor.

The actor is being tried by Justice Taiwo over charges bordering on rape, sexual assault and abuse of the minor.
He was earlier granted bail on the ground that it was his fundamental human rights.

Princess told the court she met Baba Ijesha in 2008 at an event and the two decided to start making comedy skits.

She claimed that Ijesha wooed her in the process of their work relationship but she rejected his proposal, however she maintained that she got close to the actor afterwards, especially after her marriage crashed around 2013.

The comedienne claimed she invested in Baba Ijesha’s education and the actor visited her at home thereafter.

He was represented by Babatunde Ogala SAN, amongst others, while the prosecutor, the Lagos State Government, was represented by Olayinka Adeyemi.
