Presidential race: APC South-West Leaders urge Amosun, Bakare, Bankole, Boroffice to step down

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in South-West, on Saturday night, met in Abuja with presidential aspirants from the zone.

The meeting was held at the residence of former Governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba. It lasted for about three hours.
Presidential primary of APC begins on Monday in Abuja.

Freedom Online learned that at the meeting, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Senator Ajayi Boroffice, Pastor Tunde Bakare and Dimeji Bankole were told to step down “due to their limited campaign activities for the presidency”.

One of the leaders said this action was to
‘streamline options for our region’s consensus preference to three aspirants, namely Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) and Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State”.

Also at the meeting were Chief Bisi Akande, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, Governor Jide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, and others.
The meeting continues on Sunday.
