The Federal Government has released N944 million for disbursement to victims of the 2011 post election violence in Kano State.

Mr Hassan Katchima, an official of the Disbursement Committee from the Federal Ministry of Land, Housing and Urban Development, disclosed this when he paid a courtesy visit to the state acting Governor,  Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, on Saturday in Kano.

Katchima explained that the amount would be shared among the 120 victims based on the quantum of their losses during the crisis.

According to him, the committee would commence the disbursement of the funds to the victims after necessary screening and verification.

He called on the affected persons to give the committee the necessary support and cooperation to ensure the success of the exercise.

In his remark, Ganduje tasked members of the committee to ensure justice and fairness in the discharge of their responsibility.

He also urged them to work out effective modalities for equitable distribution of the funds as directed by the Federal Government.
