President Bola Tinubu has ordered top security officials to immediately move to Maiduguri following the recent deadly attacks in the city.

The directive, issued on Tuesday, is aimed at strengthening on-ground coordination and reinforcing ongoing military operations in Nigeria’s North-East.

According to the President, the relocation of security chiefs is part of urgent steps to bring the situation under control and prevent further threats to peace in the region.

He also instructed relevant emergency response bodies to prioritise the treatment and welfare of those injured in the incident.

Tinubu expressed deep concern over the attacks, describing them as tragic and deeply troubling, while extending condolences to families who lost loved ones.

He assured residents of Borno State of the Federal Government’s full support during this difficult period.

The President noted that the attacks were attempts by terrorist groups to create fear but insisted that such efforts would not succeed.

He emphasised that security forces were already mounting sustained pressure on criminal elements operating in the region.

Reaffirming his administration’s stance, Tinubu said operations against insurgents and other criminal groups would be intensified nationwide.

He also commended Nigerian troops for their bravery in repelling coordinated assaults on military formations in the state.

The President further revealed that additional military equipment and operational resources had recently been approved to strengthen ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.

He assured Nigerians that these measures were already being deployed to improve security outcomes.

Tinubu reiterated that no part of the country would serve as a safe haven for terrorists, vowing that all threats would be tracked and eliminated.

He urged citizens to remain calm and resilient, expressing confidence that Nigeria would overcome its current security challenges.

Reports indicate that the attacks involved multiple suspected suicide bombings in Maiduguri, resulting in fatalities and several injuries.
