Nigeria Police Force

The police in Enugu State on Tuesday said that they have rescued an octogenarian, Mrs Roseline Odoh, and her daughter, Josephine, from their abductors.
Spokesman for the state police command, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, told newsmen in Enugu that the 84-year-old woman and her daughter were kidnapped from their house at Ogbelle Ohullor in Udenu LGA of the state on September 22.
He said that the victims were rescued on September 23 with the aid of useful information from some members of the public.
Amaraizu said that the police rescued the victims unhurt in a bush located at Orokam in Benue State.
He said that the police worked in collaboration with the community’s vigilance group.
The spokesman said that one of the suspects died from bullet wounds during confrontation with the police.
He said that the command recovered from the suspects, a Renault car with registration number, UWN 992 LN, used by them for the operation.
Amaraizu said that the suspects were helping the police in investigations.
He said that the police was determined to ensure security, and warned criminals to desist from their acts to avoid attracting the wrath of the law.
