Plateau Government has pledged to adopt inclusivity and gender mainstreaming in  all its policies and programmes.

This is contained in a communiqué issued at the end of its six-day retreat and on boarding of its state executive council, permanent secretaries and other political appointees.

The communiqué was read by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Samuel Jatau, on Friday at National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) near Jos.

Jatau said that the Plateau Government had resolved to rise above past years of socio-economic, political and security struggles in the state and  build on the legacies of its founding fathers.

He said that the administration of Gov. Caleb Mutfwang was determined to generate revenue in the state and formulate people oriented policies.

”Participants resolved to improve funding to meet the demands of the state by exploring alternative sources of funding, reducing the cost of governance and improving revenue generation for effective project funding.

”Foster good governance through the adoption and implementation of people-oriented policies, blocking loopholes, reducing wastages.

”And, adopting cost-effective, transparent and accountable processes as well as embracing governance,” he said.

Jatau said that resolutions were reached to enforce the ban on collection of illegal taxes and mounting of illegal road blocks.

He said that the participants also resolved to embrace government’s vision and mission as captured in its policy thrust and 10 thematic areas

He said that they also pledged to collaborate and assiduously work towards building a united Plateau in line with the goals and objectives of, “The Time is Now” Mantra of Mutfwang’s administration.

“They also promised to step down the training  to other officials of government at different levels to foster  understanding  of the vision for effective implementation of government policies and programs.

The retreat was declared closed by the Deputy Governor of the state, Mrs Josephine Piyo who charged the participants to ensure that they reflect the resolutions  in their discharge of duties.
