The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won all the 21 chairmanship seats in the Adamawa Local Government Elections conducted on Saturday.

Mr Mohammed Umar, Chairman of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), announced the results on Monday in Yola.

Umar also declared that the PDP secured all the 226 councillorship seats across the state’s wards.

He said the results were confirmed after the final collation of votes from the 21 local government areas.

“Following the final collation of results, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won all the 21 chairmanship seats contested in the state.

“The party also won all the 226 councillorship seats across the wards, while the election was conducted peacefully,” he said.

The ADSIEC chairman said that although 11 political parties initially indicated interest in participating in the election, only four eventually took part.

According to him, the participating parties were the PDP, All Progressives Congress (APC), Social Democratic Party (SDP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC).
