The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, says the party under his leadership will ensure that the principles of internal democracy is observed at all times.
This is contained in a statement issued by Tukur in Abuja on Friday.
“As it has been from the beginning, the PDP under my chairmanship shall continue to ensure that power resides fully with the people.
“As the national chairman of your party, I shall remain resolute on good leadership.
“My stand on good governance at all levels from those elected on the platform of the PDP is irrevocable.’’ Tukur said.
He reassured the party`s unwavering stand on internal democracy, openness and robust ventilation of all party issues, which according to him, has been its strength for over a decade.
Tukur hailed the Federal High Court injunction, which held that the party leadership should revert to what it was before the convention.
He appreciated all party members for their steadfastness and commitment to the ideals of its founding fathers, which he said, was underscored by their unflinching loyalty to the party`s constitution.
Tukur further thanked them for remaining loyal to the party in spite of recent development that had confronted its collective resolve to provide purposeful leadership for all members and the country.
He reassured party members that the challenges would not distract or affect the “undiluted” readiness and focus of its leadership to deliver on its campaign promises.
The chairman expressed optimism that the party`s leverage on the faithful implementation of its manifesto would again, ensure victory for it in 2015 general elections.
Tukur charged party members to close ranks and continue to remain loyal.
He also urged them to remain committed to the ideals of a united, formidable and democratic national political party, where power belongs to all Nigerians, irrespective of tribe, religion or any other divide.
