bamanga_tukurThe National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has inaugurated a 12-man caretaker committee to manage the affairs of the party in Zamfara.

Speaking on Wednesday in Abuja while inaugurating the committee, Tukur urged the members of the committee to ensure that aggrieved members of the party in the state were reconciled.

He said that the committee was inaugurated because the tenure of the current state executive committee of the party in the state had expired.

He said that the caretaker committee was expected to manage the affairs of the party and conduct fresh election for a new executive in the state.

The chairman urged members of the caretaker committee to ensure that the tenets of true democracy were maintained in the state.

In his response, the chairman of the caretaker committee, Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu said the members were prepared to work.

He said that the committee was ready to mobilise people at the grassroots in Zamfara to ensure the victory of the party in the 2015 election.

He said the committee would need the support of the party’s leadership to succeed in its assignment.

Alhaji Yunusa Shusha would serve as secretary of the committee.

Other members of the committee included Alhaji Bashir Kurya, Mr Bello Moriki, Alhaji Kabiru Moyi, Alhaji Umaru Bungudu, Alhaji Bala Maru, Alhaji Danlami Idris and Alhaji Yusuf Idris.

Alhaji Hassan Danmri, Alhaji Ibrahim Danmaliki and Alhaji Abdullahi Yanware are also members of the committee.

In a related development, the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) would on Oct. 31, inaugurate a 60-man National Campaign Committee for the Nov. 16 Anambra governorship election.

A statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by Mr Olisa Metuh, the party`s National Publicity Secretary, said the decision was part of resolutions reached at the 363 meeting of the NWC.

He said the committee would be headed by the Vice President, Alhaji Namadi Sambo, while Mr Victor Kwon, the party’s National Legal Adviser would serve as secretary.

He said the committee was expected to work round the clock to ensure the victory of the party in the election.

He urged members of the party in the state to close ranks and support the party’s candidate, Mr Tony Nwoye to ensure his success in the election.
