First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, on Thursday, declared that Abia State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Dr. Victor Okezie Ikpeazu, will win the April 11 election.
She spoke at the Umuahia Township Stadium, venue of the PDP Women Presidential Campaign Rally.
Also at the event were Governor Theodore Orji; his wife, Mercy; Ikpeazu; his wife, Nkechi; All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate who defected to the PDP, Prince Fred Eke Idika; former Aviation Minister, Mrs. Kema Chikwe; members of the National Assembly and PDP chiefs.
Amid shouts of ‘Mama Peace’, Dame Jonathan said: “I can tell you that Ikpeazu has won on April 11. There is no argument about that. Abia is a PDP state. APC does not have anybody here. With the defection of their running mate to PDP, Ikpeazu has won. APC is an expired drug that everybody is running from. Don’t take it or you will be poisoned”.
The First Lady, an indigene of Abia State, added: “I want to thank you for sending me to Aso Rock. I will return in 2019 when my husband has finished in Aso Rock. On election day, please come out and vote for PDP. If your leg is paining you, carry your walking stick. Farmers, please don’t go to your farm. Come out and vote for PDP. Your in-law (Jonathan) has made you proud. If he has not done well, please come out and challenge me. He has given Nigerian women voice. We don’t feel inferior again”.
