Manny Pacquiao will arrive on Wednesday morning in Manila via Philippine Airlines and is expected to receive a hero’s welcome from Filipino fans at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City.
Despite his unanimous decision loss to undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 2 in Las Vegas Nevada, many Filipinos believe that Pacquiao won the bout dubbed as the ‘Fight of the Century’.
“Manny will come home Wednesday and not tomorrow [Tuesday]. The Filipinos and the people around the world still consider Pacquiao the true winner,” Pacquiao’s longtime business manager, Eric Pineda, told The Manila Times in a phone interview.
“Manny’s focus will be on Congress and basketball.”
Pacquiao is the current Representative of the province of Sarangani and the playing-head coach of KIA in the Philippine Basketball Association.
