Oyo increases salaries of contract athletes

Oyo State Sports received a boost today with the approval of a massive Increment in Salaries and Allowances of contract Staff in the services of Oyo State Sports Council.

Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr.Adedapo Lam-Adesina who broke the news said the State Government recognizes the importance of Sports and the Contributions of the Athletes and Officials thus the need for the increment.

Mr. Lam-Adesina said Athletes welfare is important to the Present Administration in the State and the State Government will continue to encourage Athletes and official to do the state proud.

Sports Officers and Athletes that previously earned N12,000 and N15,000 will now receive N30,000 and N40,000 respectively.

The Sports commissioner stated that all issues regarding the payment of this new salaries has been addressed and the beneficiaries will soon start to receive their payment without further delay.

It will be recalled that the present administration under Senator Ajimobi has twice increased the reward given to the Athletes and Official who did the State proud at the last two editions of the National Sports Festival.
