Oyo APC rigged March 28 election, says LP

All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has been accused of rigging the March 28 presidential and National Assembly elections.
The state chapter of Labour Party (LP), which made the allegation on Tuesday, said it would contest the result at the tribunal.
Former governor of the state, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, is the LP governorship candidate for Saturday’s election.
The Director of Public Affairs, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala’s Campaign Organisation, Dare Ogunlana, said it was a fraudulent act for the APC to rig the election in favour of its National Assembly candidates.
He spoke at a press conference at the Iyaganku Press Centre of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).‎
He said: “We know APC rigged the election in favour of their House of Representatives and senatorial candidates here in Oyo State and we are going to challenge that in the tribunal. In as much as members of Labour Party have no quarrels against the victory of the President elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, none of the APC candidates in the state for the House of Representatives and for the Senate, merited and deserved the victory they recorded in the upper Saturday’s elections”.
On Alao-Akala’s candidature, he said: “More than at any period in our history, who the people of Oyo State elect as governor will matter, essentially because nothing seems to be working since the last 46 months in the state and to correct this anomaly, a new governor that is creative enough to manage the affairs of this state is urgently needed. The incumbent has shown his leadership deficiency.
“First and foremost, it is incumbent on us as a party to congratulate the winner of presidential election, General Muhammadu Buhari, for his victory in the March 28, 2015 poll. While we salute the doggedness and tenacity of the former military Head of State, we are very hopeful that just like General Muhammadu Buhari defeated the incumbent president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala will also defeat Governor Abiola Ajimobi in this week’s governorship poll.
“Also, President Goodluck Jonathan deserves commendation for, at least, fulfilling his promise of credible electoral process. His name will continue to ring a bell in the political history of Nigeria.
“Because we believe that nothing can stop an idea whose time has come, we will like to advise the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State not to be overjoyed by its victory in the presidential poll as shock awaits the party and its members in this week’s election. We understand the fact that people wanted change at the centre and they voted Buhari but that will not save the APC in Oyo State because people are tired of the anti-masses policy of Governor Ajimobi. April 11 will be politically different from March 28, 2015.
“No amount of lies will save Governor Abiola Ajimobi from defeat. For having nothing to show for all the allocation it has gotten since inception, this government is not only fraudulent but lack creativity. May we ask where little known states like Osun, Ekiti get funds to do the enormous works they have been able to do while the grandfather of these states, Oyo, continues to suffer developmental deficiency. All what Governor Ajimobi has gotten is higher than what the previous administrations in this state got combined.
“We urge the people of the state to be firm in their bid to oust the incumbent administration which has inflicted pains and elevated their problems rather than alleviate it.
“Our standard bearer, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, is very much in the race; he has not stepped down for anybody. We are very optimistic of victory in Saturday’s election”.
