Hours after the congress of Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC) was postponed, loyalists of Governor Abiola Ajimobi are now in a panic mode.
Some thugs had disrupted the congress at the Oke-Ado secretariat of the party, alleging irregularities.
The latest crisis in the Ajimobi camp borders on their inability to beat the deadline for purchase of forms.
A party chief disclosed on Saturday that
“they stand the risk of not participating in the exercise. Now, they are shopping desperately for banks that will accept deposits and issue them tellers to enable them collect forms”.
It was learned that the governor’s SENACO Group “risks losing the election because the Lamists who were the only one to pay nomination forms would be returned unopposed”.
A source said the Regional Director of a new generation bank has been approached to “urgently save us from this embarrassment”.
The director hails from a prominent Lagos family.
But, those opposed to the governor have vowed to “resist this underground plan to manipulate the process”.
