A Non Governmental Organization (NGO) , Real Acts of Kindness (RAK) Development Foundation, on Sunday inaugurated a water project in Iworo, a community in Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Badagry, Lagos.

Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende, the Pioneer, RAK foundation, said the water project was in Iworo market to enable the marketers to keep their environment clean.

Speaking shortly after the inauguration, Ogunlende, who is the immediate past Special Adviser to Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Special Duty and Intergovernmental Relations, said he was delighted to fulfill his pledge to the people.

“This is in fulfillment of a pledge made to the market women while I was consulting, seeking to get the House of Representatives ticket under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the build-up to the last primary elections.

“The people requested for two boreholes, one in the market to enable them to have water, which I have pledged to implement.

“We did the first one immediately, and we are delivering the second one today at the market square.

“I thank the Almighty Allah for giving me the ability to fulfill that obligation because a promise is a debt,” he said.

The former Special Adviser said this was not the first time he would be assisting his people in Badagry, adding that he had done much empowerment and commissioned several projects for the betterment of Badagry residents.

“Irrespective of whether I was contesting or not, it is in the Bible and Qur’an. There is a lot of reward that comes from it.

“So, I am happy that I am alive to be able to fulfill this obligation and I hope that I am able to reap the benefits of these by the special grace of Almighty Allah,” he said.

Also speaking, Chief Timothy Adeleogun, the Baba-Oja of Iworo kingdom, said they were surprised when Ogunlende started constructing the water project  in spite his loss in the primary election in 2022.

“We are grateful to you for giving us this water project to quench our thirst in the market.

“Our prayer for you is that God will give you a smooth drive to political leadership of this country.

“You will achieve your aim in life,” he prayed.

In his remarks, Mr Adediran Gbadebo, the Chairman of Ibile Drivers, Iworo Branch, likened the water project  to bringing electricity supply to the community.

He promised that the borehole would be judiciously used by the marketers and people of Iworo.

Traditional chiefs, market men, women, Okada commercial riders and youths from the community graced the event.
