The Chrisland Schools Parents Teachers Association (PTA) Chairman, Rev. Thank God Oganwo, in company of other parents, have met with the Lagos State Commissioner for Education in Alausa.
Rev Oganwo acknowledged the mediatory role that the Lagos government has played thus far and appreciated their efforts in seeking a lasting solution to the issue.
He further noted that the primary objective of the parents was to seek counselling and lasting rehabilitation for the children involved in the unfortunate incident.

Additionally, Rev. Oganwo submitted a letter to the Lagos state Governor (through the commissioner) on-behalf of the parents seeking the reopening of all Chrisland schools to avoid any academic setback for the students as their exams are fast approaching.
Rev Oganwo noted that “we are committed to continuously interfacing with the school management and indeed fellow parents with a view to ensuring that each stakeholder perform their respective roles in ensuring that the students stay on track academically and morally.”

Addressing the parents, the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folashade Adefisayo, described the incident as unfortunate noting that it was as a result of a combination of factors including parenting and societal issues.
She further assured the parents that the letter will be duly delivered to the Governor.

On the reopening of Chrisland schools to avoid any academic setback, she said that “the state is quite mindful of the children who have various exit examinations to write and there will be clarity on all areas of concern in a matter of days.”
