fredrick_fasehun2The Oodua Peoples’ Congress (OPC), the Ndi-Igbo Progressive Movement and the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) on Monday commiserated with Gov. Babatunde Fashola (SAN) over the death of his father.

The governor’s father, Alhaji Ademola Fashola, died on Sunday night in Lagos. He was aged 75.

The OPC founder and chairman of the UPN, Dr Federick Fasehun, described the death as a loss to the nation.

Fasehun told NAN that the death was a big loss, especially as his son, Babatunde was away to pray for the state and the nation.

“I pray that God will grant the entire family and the governor the fortitude to bear the loss,” Fasehun said.

Dr Smart Ofonyiri, the President of the Ndi-Igbo Progressive Movement, said the late Fashola was a gentleman to the core.

“I knew him as a resident of Surulere and he was a kind and easy-going man.

“Most importantly, he was a man who listened to all that came to him for help.

“May his soul rest in peace,’’ Ofonyiri said.

The Lagos State Chairman of the CNPP, Mr Akinola Obadia, said that Fashola’s death was a loss to Nigeria.

“We regret his passage at this time when his fatherly advice is needed most. God knows best,” Obadia said.
