One killed as robbers attack Ado-Ekiti bank

Again, bandits went on the rampage in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital on Wednesday, attacking the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) of a branch of an old generation bank located on Ajilosun Street, carting away an undisclosed amount of money and killing a man.
Freedom Online learnt that the robbers stormed the bank around 2am, started shooting at the machine and later used an explosive suspected to be a dynamite to blow it.
It is not clear if the person killed was a security guard or a customer trying to get money from the machine.
The body was later taken to the mortuary.
Because of the incident, the bank was shut. Customers who were not aware of the incident had stormed the bank to transact business.
The state police command declared that a suspect had been arrested in connection with the robbery.
There was a large presence of policemen around the bank in the morning.
Some other banks also shut their doors.
