Nigeria dependable defender, Kenneth Omeruo, is in London for the purpose of undergoing a medical at English Premier League club, Chelsea FC.
The 2013 African Nations Cup winner left Nigeria for London on Thursday after being granted a work permit by the British Home Office.
The trip was almost delayed due to non issuance his documentation at the British High Commission in Abuja but it was all sorted on time for him to depart late Thursday night.
However, he will be unable to join the rest of the Chelsea squad as there was no time for him to apply for a US visa.
It is not yet clear if Chelsea intends to keep the Nigeria for the current season, or if he will be farmed out on loan again.
But the club’s insistence on securing a work permit for him means he might stay in England, even if not at Chelsea.
