Fenerbahce FC of Turkey on Friday opened negotiations with Russian club Spartak Moscow to grab Nigerian star striker Emmanuel Emenike.
The Nigerian looks likely to return to the side he left two seasons ago at the height of a match fixing allegation which made him spend four nights in jail but was eventually cleared.
Fenerbahce are also keen to sign Paraguayan Oscar Cardozo from Benfica.
Emenike has also been on the radar of English Premier League side West Ham. But reports in Russia state that the 26-year-old is likely to return to Turkey and will reunite with national team captain Joseph Yobo.
He has scored twice in three matches since the new Russian season began.
