Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambition during a meeting with members of the City Boy Movement in Benin City.

The delegation, which included the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawale was received at the Government House as part of the group’s ongoing South-South regional tour.

Okpebholo described the City Boy Movement as an organised and inclusive platform that deserves backing from Nigerians, regardless of political affiliation or generational differences.

He noted that the movement’s objectives align with efforts to promote national development and long-term prosperity.

The governor expressed confidence that initiatives like the City Boy Movement could help reorient young Nigerians toward active participation in nation-building and governance.

He also pledged his continued support for President Tinubu, emphasising the importance of sustaining ongoing reforms under the current administration.

The City Boy Movement is a youth-focused political advocacy group that promotes engagement in governance, policy awareness, and community development.

It aims to mobilise Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 50, while strengthening the connection between grassroots communities and government institutions.

The group’s visit to Edo State was led by its Grand Patron, Seyi Tinubu, son of the president, as part of efforts to expand youth mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during the visit, Minister Olawale said the team was in Edo to seek collaboration with the state government and encourage young people to participate actively in shaping the country’s future.

Other speakers at the meeting stressed the need for unity among youths and increased involvement in political processes.

The group is expected to engage with young people across the 18 local government areas of Edo State before continuing its outreach to other states in the South-South region.
