Ogun: Police confirm three varsity students dead in lone accident (see pix)

The Police Command in Ogun State has confirmed three university students dead in a lone accident along Ilisan-Ago-Iwoye Road in the state.
The Command’s Spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, who gave the confirmation in a statement in Abeokuta on Saturday, said that the persons involved were suspected to be students of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye.

Odutola explained that the accident occurred at 3:30p.m on Friday.
She noted that the Opel car with registration number AAA-126 HE was driven by one Adekunle Adebiyi, residing at 5, Sunmibare Street, Awa Ijebu.
Odutola said that the accident was caused by overspeeding and loss of control on the part of the driver which made the vehicle to flip into the bush.
“A male passenger, whose identity has not yet been confirmed but is believed to be a student from OOU, died at the scene.
“His body has been taken to the mortuary of General Hospital, Ijebu Ode.
“Two female students from Olabisi Onabanjo University — Dada Oluwanifesimi, 18, and Miracle Daniel, 19, were rushed to Love and Care Hospital; but unfortunately died while receiving treatment.

”The vehicle has been recovered and taken to the station,” she said.
The command spokesperson explained that further update would be communicated on the unfortunate incident.
She urged motorists to always drive safely and obey traffic rules and regulations “especially during this festive season”.
