The Ogun State House of Assembly on Monday passed a bill seeking the re-alignment of the 2013 appropriation.
Assemblyman Akanbi Bankole, the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and Appropriation Reading, who read the committee’s report, said that the bill would allow for the redistribution of funds among ministries, departments and agencies.
He noted that some government agencies had exhausted their budgetary provision for 2013, especially on salaries and overheads.
“There is urgent need for the budget amendment but the original size of the budget will not be affected,” he said.
The affected agencies include the Ministry of Special Duties, Bureau of Electrical Engineering Services, Housing Projects and Ministry of Physical Planning.
The report of the committee was adopted via a motion, which was moved by Bankole and seconded by Assemblyman Samson Onademuren.
The motion was unanimously accepted by the House.
The Speaker of the House, Mr Suraj Adekunbi, directed that a clean copy of the bill should be sent to Gov. Ibikunle Amosun for his assent.
