An Abuja High Court has postponed proceedings in the ₦2 billion assault and battery lawsuit against Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, after the musician and his lawyer failed to appear for Tuesday’s hearing.
The court fixed Wednesday, October 14, 2026, for further proceedings after the claimant, fellow entertainer Levi Ogbogiri, also known as Kraziecent, presented his evidence.
The latest development adds another delay to a legal dispute arising from an alleged confrontation at a public event in December 2024.
Odumodublvck Absent as Court Resumes Hearing
When the case came up before Justice J.O.E. Adeyemi-Ajayi on Tuesday, October 13, counsel to the claimant, Uchenna Ojembe, informed the court that his client was present and prepared to testify.
However, the rapper and his lawyer, Taiwo Akinsulie, were absent.
Ojembe expressed concern about the repeated postponements, pointing out that the matter had already experienced several delays.
He asked the court to proceed with the hearing rather than allow another adjournment to prevent his client from presenting his case.
Justice Ajayi initially stood the matter down to give the defendant and his legal representative more time to arrive.
When proceedings resumed, neither Odumodublvck nor his lawyer was present.
Claimant Presents Medical Records and Other Evidence
Despite the defendant’s absence, the court proceeded to hear evidence from Ogbogiri.
The claimant entered the witness box and adopted his previously filed witness statements and affidavits dated February 25, 2026.
He told the court that he was relying on documentary and electronic materials to support the allegations contained in his lawsuit.
Among the records he referred to were medical reports relating to a wrist injury, photographs and documents concerning treatment he said he received after the alleged incident.
Ogbogiri also identified WhatsApp conversations, payment receipts and business agreements as materials relevant to his claims.
Some of the documents concerned an alleged unfulfilled booking arrangement involving Walex Biz Nigeria Limited, Shelter Groove Limited, Capworld Nigeria Limited and Chinotem Nigeria Limited.
The claimant said the materials formed part of the evidence supporting his application for relief against the rapper.
The court subsequently adjourned proceedings until October 14 to allow for cross-examination of Ogbogiri by the defence.
The evidence presented remains subject to examination and judicial assessment. No finding of liability was announced at Tuesday’s hearing.
How the Assault Allegation Began
The dispute arose from an incident that Ogbogiri says occurred on December 16, 2024, during a public event.
According to his account, he was taking photographs and recording videos when Odumodublvck allegedly attacked him without provocation.
He claims the confrontation caused physical injuries, emotional distress and damage to his iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The allegations form the basis of the civil action seeking compensation and other remedies from the musician.
There has been no court determination establishing that Odumodublvck assaulted the claimant.
Kraziecent Seeks ₦2 Billion and Public Apology
Ogbogiri is asking the court to award relief for his alleged injuries, including reimbursement of medical expenses.
He also wants Odumodublvck to issue a public apology through his social media accounts and in two national newspapers, with a ₦2 billion damages claim forming part of the remedies sought.
Earlier reports of the lawsuit also identified claims relating to the damaged mobile phone, emotional distress and reputational harm.
The amount is a demand made by the claimant, not compensation already awarded by the court.
Previous Court Hearings Delayed
The dispute has remained before the FCT High Court through several scheduled hearings.
In October 2025, the court granted an adjournment to allow the defence time to respond to the suit.
Proceedings were delayed again in February 2026 because of renovation work at the courthouse.
At a hearing in April, the defence sought another postponement after counsel indicated he was outside the court’s jurisdiction.
The court later fixed June 23 for the case to continue.
At that hearing, another lawyer representing the rapper requested more time to prepare the defence, prompting the court to move proceedings to October 13 and 14.
The claimant’s lawyer objected to the repeated delays and sought a financial penalty against the defence, but the court granted the adjournment without imposing the requested cost.
What Happens Next in Odumodublvck’s Case?
The case is scheduled to return before Justice Adeyemi-Ajayi on Wednesday, October 14, for the defence to have an opportunity to cross-examine Ogbogiri.
That stage of the proceedings would allow the rapper’s legal team to question the claimant about his allegations, documents and account of the December 2024 incident.
The court will ultimately determine the weight of the evidence presented by the parties and whether the claimant has established a legal basis for the remedies he seeks.
For now, the ₦2 billion lawsuit remains unresolved.
Tuesday’s adjournment was a procedural decision and did not amount to a judgment against Odumodublvck.
