The nagging injury that rendered Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Martins, inactive some months is back as the Seattle Sounders of USA star is again down with a calf injury.
The injury which has kept the Eagles star on the low side stopped him from weekend’s game against San Jose Earthquakes.
‘Obagoal’ suffered a calf injury in the game against Vancouver and so was ruled out of the weekend game.
The former Levante of Spain striker has been unlucky with injuries since he joined the Major League Soccer (MLS) side.
“Oba still hasn’t recovered from the kick he took in the calf in the Vancouver game,” disclosed Seattle coach Sigi Schmid.
Martins was picked for the MLS Team of Week 20 following his brace against DC United.
He has scored seven goals since he joined Seattle Sounders.
