NSE moves 172.84m shares worth N3.44bn

Nigeria equity market rises by 0.14% in cautious trading

Investors on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday staked N3.44 billion on 172.84 million shares in 3,226 deals on massive sell pressure.
This is against 160.61 million shares worth N1.65 billion traded in 3,267 deals on Wednesday.
UBA was the most active, exchanging 33.59 million shares valued at N135.84 million in 319 deals.
Zenith Bank came second with 20.78 million shares worth N344.82 million traded in 220 deals, while Continental Reinsurance sold 20.27 million shares valued at N2.28 million in 16 deals.
GTBank traded 15.74 million shares worth N369.64 million in 238 deals, while Access Bank exchanged 12.26 million shares worth N56.67 million in 162 deals.

Dangote Cement gained N1.01k to close at N161.01k, while 7UP grew by N0.97k to close at N197.00.

Forte Oil recorded the highest price gain of N6 to close at N270 per share.

Okomu Oil trailed with N3.32 to close at N35.72, while UACN chalked up N1.10 to close at N26.85 per share.

Dangote Cement gained N1.01 to close at N161.01, while 7UP grew by 97k to close at N197 per share.

The market capitalisation rose by N11 billion or 0.11 per cent to close at N10.207 trillion compared with N10.196 trillion posted on Wednesday.

Also, the All-Share Index, which opened, at 29,668.16 increased by 31.92 points or 0.11 per cent to close at 29,700.08.

Mobil led the losers’ table, losing N4 to close at N155 per share.

Flour Mills followed with a loss of 99k to close at N21.01, while Nestle lost 67k to close at N830 per share.

Berger Paint dropped 54k to close at N10.36, while GTBank dipped by 32k to close at N23.04 per share.
