NSE market indices appreciate by 0.41%

NGX drops further by N301bn on losses by blue chips

 

Stock prices on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) rebounded on Wednesday which impacted positively on the market indices..

The market capitalisation of listed equities appreciated by N47 billion or 0.41 per cent to close at N11.545 trillion from the  previous N11.498 trillion.

Similarly, the All- Share Index, which opened at 36,113.12, appreciated by 146.53 points to close at 36,259.65.

Nestle recorded the highest price gain of N8.99 to close at N938.99 per share.

Nigerian Breweries gained N2 to close at N165 per share, while Guinness grew by N2.49 to close at N247.50 per share.

Champion appreciated by 66k to close at N15.99 per share, while Jos International Breweries gained 56k to close at N6.22 per share.

On the other hand, Unilever led the losers’ chart by N3 to close at N56 per share.

UBA trailed with a loss of 20k to close at N7.10 per share, while Custodian Insurance dropped 14k to close at N1.30 per share.

NEIMETH depreciated by 11k to close at N1.03 per share, while NASCON dipped by 10k to close at N11.60 per share.

In all, investors exchanged 188.45 million shares worth N2.5 billion in 5,062 deals.

This was against the 196.43 million shares valued at N1.65 billion traded in 4,897 deals on Tuesday.

UBA emerged the most traded stock with 21.87 million shares worth of N155.80 million.

Transcorp traded 17.28 million shares valued at N23.64 million, while Zenith Bank sold 14.81 million shares worth N288.16 million.
