The Sokoto State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), said on Wednesday that it had apprehended two of its officers who allegedly stole an air conditioner.
The officers (names withheld), allegedly stole the air conditioner at the Federal Secretariat Clinic in Sokoto.
Mr Abdullahi Aliyu, Head of the Intelligence Unit of the command, said that one of the suspects was a permanent staff of the corps, while the other was on voluntary service.
He said that the command investigated and arrested the suspects after it received a complain from the matron of the clinic .
“After intensive investigation, the suspects were arrested and the air conditioner recovered from them.,” he said.
Aliyu said that the command would prosecute the suspects as soon as investigation was concluded.
The official expressed regret over the incident and promised that the command would flush out bad elements from within its ranks.
