
There was pandemonium on Thursday in Benin, Edo State.
The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gbenga Agun, slumped and died at an official event in the capital city.
The event was organised by the International Association of World Peace Advocates.
After delivering his keynote address, he moved to his seat and slumped.
Efforts to revive him failed.
He was immediately rushed by his aides and some of the organisers to the Military Hospital, Airport Road, Benin City, for medical attention, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
