The Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko ,has declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dikko made the endorsement in Abuja during a grand rally organised by the National Progressive Hub (NPH), a support group affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC). The event focused on mobilising backing for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
Speaking at the gathering, Dikko commended the president’s leadership style and policy direction, citing reforms introduced under the National Sports Commission as part of broader governance improvements. He noted that ongoing initiatives in the sports sector reflect a commitment to institutional restructuring and innovation.
He also applauded the administration’s economic and industrial policies, describing them as bold steps aimed at stabilising the economy and driving national development. According to him, recent executive measures requiring key government agencies to remit internally generated revenue directly to the federation account demonstrate accountability and fiscal discipline.
The programme featured the inauguration of NPH coordinators for the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, alongside the presentation of a strategic roadmap for grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
Organisers said the group plans to deploy its nationwide network to galvanise support for the APC, positioning the endorsement as an early boost for the president’s re-election campaign.
