NPFL: MFM FC put up hard fight against Katsina United FC to secure point + other results

As Lagos-based MFM FC continues its fairy run in the abridged 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), its Assistant Coach said the team put up a good fight to secure a draw against Katsina United FC.
The Olukoya Boys were able to pick a valuable away point with a 1-1 draw against the Changi Boys Wednesday at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina.
The team drew the match in absence of its Chief Coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, who is away on international assignment with the U-23 team in Tunisia.
MFM FC would have won the rescheduled Match Day 9 game after they got the first goal in the 44th minute through Chijioke Akuneto’s wonderful finish.
The homers, however, stole a last-minute comeback in the 70th minute through Martins Usule.
On the valuable away point, the teams assistant coach, Alli Obinna, said that the team had to put up a good fight to secure the valuable point at the expense of the homers.
“First and foremost, I want to thank God Almighty because Katsina is not an easy place to draw or play to get what we got today.
“I want to thank the boys for the hard fight they put up today and at the end of the day we got one point.
“Notwithstanding that we will continue to fight for a better finish in the league because it wont end here for us to have a better standing at the end of the season, he said.
