NPFL: Kwara Utd shock Shooting Stars in Ilorin

Kwara United, on Wednesday, ended Shooting Stars’ unbeaten run of nine games with a resounding 2-0 victory in Ilorin in a rescheduled game.
Since tasting defeat against Remo Stars in a MatchDay 14 game, the Oluyole Warriors have gone eight games without a loss, winning seven of those including an away win against defending champions, Rangers in Enugu.
The form of the Gbenga Ogunbote-led side has given the club’s faithfuls hope of winning the league as they are just eight points behind Remo Stars and already hoping to reduce the gap with a win in Ilorin.
Kabiru Muhammed opens scoring for the Harmony Boys in the 22nd minute of the game with Abdullahi Ojifinni making it 2-0 in the 56th minute to secure the victory.
Insurance’s Kayode Oke was a torn in the flesh of Enyimba in another rescheduled game, scoring the only goal in the 1-0 defeat of the nine-time league winner.
Enyimba’s Innocent Gabriel was sent off after harshly bringing down goal bound Oke in the 21st minute with the visitors reduced to 10-men before scoring the winning goal in the second half of the game.
In Kano, it ended 2-1 in favour of Kano Pillars as they beat El-Kanemi Warriors with goals from Rabiu Ali and Rashid Alasan while the visitors goal was scored by Al-Amin Umar.
