The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced that 20 vessels carrying petroleum products, food commodities and other goods are expected to arrive at Lagos ports between August 26 and August 30.
The authority disclosed this in its Daily Shipping Position obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Lagos.
According to the NPA, seven of the incoming vessels will arrive with containers containing different goods, while the remaining 13 vessels will transport various commodities.
The expected cargo includes crude oil, aviation fuel, bulk wheat, fresh fish, bulk pallets and other general goods.
The authority also reported that 11 ships and tanker vessels had already arrived at the ports and were waiting for berthing arrangements.
These vessels are expected to deliver commodities including petrol, diesel, aviation fuel, bulk urea, fertiliser and wheat.
Meanwhile, 13 vessels are currently undergoing cargo discharge operations at three major Lagos ports.
The ongoing operations involve the movement of bulk wheat, containers, fresh fish, petroleum products and general cargo.
The affected facilities include Lekki Deep Sea Port, Apapa Port and Tin Can Island Port.
The NPA said the expected arrivals and ongoing cargo activities reflect continued movement of essential goods through Nigeria’s maritime trade channels.
