The Nigerian Institute of Management Chartered (NIM) has brokered a partnership deal with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to engender improved work ethics and attitudinal change in the aviation sector.
Dr Christiana Atako, President, NIM, during a courtesy visit on Monday in Abuja, said the move by both organizations would be beneficial to revitalizing the Nigerian aviation industry.
Atako noted that many members of FAAN had in the past benefited from the various human capital development programs of the institute.
She urged other FAAN top management staff to the NIM Intensive Training for Membership Admission (ITMA) program to jerk up their managerial competencies.
This, she said, would trickle down to the junior staff and increase customer satisfaction at the various airports across the country.
She added that the institute’s various programs would enable the beneficiaries to be up-to-date with the latest development in the management profession.
“I, however, urge you to update your position as a financial corporate member of NIM which would entitle your organisation to discount on the different human capital development programs of the Institute alongside other benefits.
“The institute is proposing to organize tailor-made training programs for your staff, some of whom are members of the institute, as well as solicit you to nominate them to always attend our regular human capacity development and learning programs.
“As a gender sensitive organisation, it would be appreciated if you sponsor your female staff to this year’s WIMLEAD Conference in Lagos on July 19 and 20 with theme: ” Building Alliances and Strategic Relationships”.
“We look forward to a win-win relationship between NIM and FAAN,” she said.
Responding, Mr Kabir Mohammed, the Managing Director, FAAN, pledged to fashion out modalities to determine the FAAN staff genuinely interested in gaining knowledge and get them sponsored to the institute’s programs.
Mohammed said as the Managing Director, his particular interest was in work ethics and attitudinal change and promised to give accelerated consideration for FAAN to attend.
