Despite recording remarkable results in their last two matches against Mexico in an international friendly and Kenya in a World Cup qualifiers, the Super Eagles of Nigeria surprisingly dropped three places in the latest FIFA rankings to slip to 31st in the world.
The dropping did not affect Nigeria’s standing in the continent as the Eagles stand rooted as Africa’s number team.
Of the Eagles’ World Cup qualifying opponents, Malawi are the highest ranked in Africa at 31, Namibia moved three places up to 34, just sliding one place ahead of Kenya who are down at 35.
