A Non Governmental Organization (NGO), known as Zamfara Youths for Peace, Unity and Love Initiative, on Friday, donated clothes, shoes and toiletries to 100 orphans in the state.
Presenting the items to Gusau Orphanage Home, the state Chairman of the NGO, Muhammad Dambaza, said the gesture was intended to support the orphans.
Dambaza said: “We have much concern about children, especially the orphans, that is why we brought these clothes to them.
“This is to complement state government’s efforts in taking care of them.
“Each of the 100 orphans, comprising males and females, received one set of clothes, shoe and toiletries.
“This is to help and encourage them to feel comfortable, like every other member of society.”
Dambaza advised the beneficiaries to focus on their studies in both Western and Islamic education.
Responding, the officer in charge of the home, Rukayya Umar, commended the NGO for complementing government’s efforts toward the wellbeing of the orphans in the state.
Umar appealed to other well-meaning individuals, groups and corporate organizations “to emulate the group in providing succor to the needy”.
