The Nigeria Football Association (NFA) has launched an investigation into alleged misconduct by officials in the ongoing 2014/2015 Nigeria Nation-Wide League (NNWL) matches.
League Secretary, Olushola Ogunnowo, revealed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said that officials who handled five matches were being investigated in this regard.
The secretary said that the investigation was being undertaken ‘in view of series of complaints and reports received from the NNWL on-the-spot match assessors and Nigeria Referee Association (NRA) assessors.
“ The NFA disciplinary committee has commenced investigations on cases of misconducts from match officials.
“Five matches are presently being investigated and once the investigation is completed, no official will be spared.
“ If need be, the case may be forwarded to FIFA/NFA fixing and integrity office for further sanctions,’’ Ogunnowo said.
The 2014/2015 league season began on May 7.
