The issue of national peace and security takes the centre stage this morning as Divine Favour Theological and Specialised Seminary, Mowe, Ogun State graduated new set of ministers on the occasion of the school 2024 graduation, ordination and award of honourary degrees.

In the graduation lecture delivered by Pastor David Kunde, the guest lecturer, the servant of God charged the graduating ministers to always remember that they have been called to peace by God and therefore must strive for completeness or wholeness, adding that the ultimate worker of Christ is called to peace.

Quoting from the book of Colossians 3:15, the cleric said: “let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body ; and be ye thankful”.

He reminded the ministers that God needs their hands (Mk 16:18), their legs (Mk 16:15), their voices (Mk 16:15 &17), their time (II Tim 4:2),their money (1 Cor 16:1-3) and their total love (Deut 6:4-5).

The guest lecturer charged the ministers to always remember the consequences of disobedience and therefore must obey God all the time and learn from the experiences of Jonah as espoused in the book of Jonah 2:1 & 11.

Speaking at the occasion, the Rector of the seminary, A/ Prof Tayo Popoola, said God’s servants in Nigeria, irrespective of their denomination, must take the issue of praying for national peace and security as a daily routine.

The cleric said “we need peace as individuals, peace in our homes, institutions, corporate bodies and the nation”.

Dr. Florence O. Olawuyi

A 71-year-old renowned cleric,Dr. Florence O.Olawuyi, was honoured at the occasion for her various contributions to the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ from her youth till date.

Dr. Olawuyi who had received several awards in the past both within and outside the country commended the seminary for considering the need to pray for national peace and security.
