For leasing out a property which is a subject of an Interim Forfeiture Order by a Lagos State High Court, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested Lagos lawyer, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa.
The human rights activist was alleged to have leased the property situated at House 105, NICON Town Estate, Lekki Lagos, to Shelf Drilling Nigeria Limited for N61, 631,944.65k.
Adegboruwa, who was picked up at his Lekki office on Tuesday, will be charged to court soon, said an EFCC source.
“We are charging him for obtaining money under false pretence by knowingly dealing in renting out a forfeited asset without due authorisation. After the money was paid to his Zenith Bank account, he disbursed the funds to others, including churches,” said the source.
