A widow, Ene Beatrice-Akor, on Friday told an FCT High Court, Jabi, that Noah Akogu, her husband’s friend, killed him.
Beatrice-Akor of Police Affairs Quarters, Kubwa, in her evidence-in-chief , said that Akogu and her husband had a little misunderstanding before his death on December 25, 2014.
She testified that her husband was hale and hearty and she discussed with him before his demise.
According to her, when he delayed in coming home, “I put another call about 7:45 p.m. it rang and rang out”.
Beatrice-Akor said that she quickly ran to the house of Patrick Abutu, the Chairman of Idoma Community Association in Kubwa, but his wife told her that they had gone to a garden in an area called 2/2 Kubwa.
She also said that Akogu was part of the people that went with her husband to the garden.
She said that they searched all over the area around the garden but could not find her husband.
The witness said that about 11:45 p.m., a call came from a member of the association that her husband was dead.
She said that the caller told her that it was Noah Akogu that killed her husband.
Beatrice-Akor said that the caller also told her that immediately the incident happen, Akogu went to the Kubwa Police Station to incident the matter.
The caller told her that Akogu told the police that he had a misunderstanding with a man and that he needed two policemen to arrest him.
The woman testified that at the police station she met Omale Emmanuel who also came to the station to inform the police that Akogu had killed somebody.
Meanwhile, Justice Othman Musa, adjourned the matter till April 13 for continuation of hearing.
Musu ordered that Akogu should continue to enjoy his earlier bail.
Akogu was in July 2015 charged with culpable homicide contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code.
