MLS comes to DStv’s SuperSport

SuperSport logoMajor League Soccer is coming to DStv’s SuperSport. The World of Champions can confirm that the popular North American and Canadian competition will be added to its international mix, starting with a round of fixtures on Sunday, August 4. SuperSport acquired the rights from leading international sports media rights agency MP and Silva.

These encompass the entire Sub-Saharan Africa and adjacent islands territory, starting immediately and continuing until November 2014.

MLS has always attracted marquee names to its teams, the most popular of whom was David Beckham, who played for LA Galaxy from 2007-2012.Big-name current stars include Tim Cahill, Thierry Henry, Robbie Keane and Alessandro Nesta. The season, which runs until December 8, includes transmission of a minimum of three live matches per week, plus eight playoffs and a final. The acquisition of MLS comes in the wake of ESPN’s withdrawal from Africa (effective July 31).

this top level football action.” The first games to be broadcast are DC United vs Montreal Impact and Seattle Sounders vs FC Dallas.
