Giovani Dos Santos is now expected to be available for the international friendly against Nigeria on Friday after the Mexican federation launched an injunction against Spanish club Mallorca which had earlier refused to release him ahead of the final game of the Spanish season.
The Mexican forward will now be part of Jose Manuel de la Torre’s side that would face the Super Eagles at the Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.
Last placed Mallorca are fighting relegation and need to win at home against Valladolid in their final match of the season on Saturday to ensure survival.
Dos Santos, who used to play for Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspurs, is a key part of the El Tri squad that will play at the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil next month.
He is expected to play for the Concacaf champions in their World Cup qualification match against Jamaica early next month.
