super_eaglesThe duo of Super Eagles strikers, Brown Ideye and Joseph Akpala have been lined-up to lead the Eagles attack against Mexico in today’s international friendly.

It was disclosed that Ukraine-based top scorer Brown Ideye and Germany-based Joseph Akpala, are the preferred strike force to start against the Mexicans as the duo have shown maturity at training sessions.

Midfielder John Ogu is also said to be pulling his weight and it won’t be surprising if he starts the match against the Concacaf champion. “I don’t know who will start and who will not but we have a team that should do very well against Mexico,” Keshi said yesterday evening.

Eagles chief coach, Stephen Keshi said he is optimistic that his players will put a good game against the Mexicans today in Houston, Texas

Keshi who expressed joy that the game will be televised live in Nigeria, says there are no injury worries in the team, promising that the team will not have any reason to faulter against the Mexicans. “We will do our best and ensure that we come clean against Mexico, as usual we want Nigerians to pray for us. On our part we will defend the national colours well against any opposition and Mexico is just one of them,” he declared.

The match is scheduled for 8pm Houston time and 2am Nigeria time on Saturday morning which will still be Friday evening in Houston.
