Embattled National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh, opened his defence on Monday before Justice Okon Abang of a Federal High Court in Abuja.
He revealed that former President Goodluck Jonathan asked him to give former National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd), his corporate account details.
The purpose was for money to be transferred to the account to prosecute the 2015 general elections.
The defence witness, Ike Abonyi, said without Jonathan’s order, Metuh would not have released the account details to Dasuki.
Metuh is accused of having collected N400 million, among others, from Dasuki by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Metuh, who accepted receiving such money from Dasuki, has however refused to disclose details of the assignments he did for the former president.
However, Metuh, again held up his trial for corruption, money laundering and criminal breach of trust on Monday with a fresh request for adjournment.
The case was adjourned to April 20.
