League of Nigerian Columnists to honour Jakande, Ogunsanwo, Sam Amuka, others

Revered veteran Columnist Alhaji Lateef Jakande a.k.a John West and a few other distinguished Columnists Gbolabo Ogunsanwo and Henry Boyo are billed to receive posthumous award of Fellows of the League of Nigerian Columnists (flnc) in Lagos on Tuesday.

Others to be honoured are Uncle Sam Amuka Pemu a.k.a Sad Sam, Dr Haroun Adamu, a.k.a. Politicus and Dan Agbese of Newswatch fame.

The epochal event will also feature a robust Lecture and Panel Discussion by leading Human Rights Lawyers and Public Intellectuals on the theme of Security and Human Rights.

The League of Nigerian Columnists parades some of the most outstanding and impactful Columnists and Writers in the continent of Africa and whose works have been published by several papers, magazines and academic journals across the globe.

In a statement by Cambridge Professor of Strategies and Development, Anthony Kila, Secretary General of the League, the twin event of the Award Ceremony and Public Lecture will have academics, media practitioners, students and leaders of thought in the audience.
