Funke Oshonaike returns a stroke on Thursday at the Lagos International Table tennis ClassicsTunisia’s sensation, Adam Hmam has tipped Nigeria’s Segun Toriola for the men singles title of the first Lagos International Table Tennis Classics.

Hmam, also hailed the organizers of the tournament for putting up a good show, saying more of this tournament should be staged in Nigeria.

“I don’t see any player stopping Toriola because he has the experience and he is still in good shape despite his age. Other players might be good but Toriola’s experience will surely count in this tournament. Being my first time in Nigeria and the first time that such tournament will be staged in Nigeria, I want to say the organizers should be commended even as I look forward to attending more tournaments in Nigeria,” Hmam said.

He however, said the presence of Egypt’s Omar Assar and other European players has indeed added glamour to the tournament, while the presence of fans at the venue has also made the competition more exciting.

“I am here to get good results and I don’t fear any player because I am here to look but to be counted among the best. There is no doubt that Nigerian players are skillful but I am also skillful as well. I am happy being in Nigeria and I look forward to coming back again,” he added.
