Google, on Thursday, called for continuous use of Google map and its features to ease traffic, especially in Lagos.

Its Communication Officer in West Africa, Mr Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade, said that traffic was a big challenge, especially in big cities like Lagos.

According to him, there are tools available for Lagos road users to help smooth their journeys and make life a little easier.

Kola-Ogunlade said that there were several ways one could use technology to reclaim a few hours everyday or make good use of one’s time on the road.

He said that Lagos traffic might seem like an insurmountable, unavoidable, stressful part of the work day over which it might seem one has no control.

According to him, 2017 study listed the 150 least to most stressed cities in the world with Stuttgart in Germany being first and Lagos came in at 148 which was no surprise to daily commuters on Lagos streets.

He said that there were obviously factors other than traffic playing a role in defining the stress list which were lack of space and cramped environments.

Kola-Ogunlade said that the Google map features could help one avoid stress that was most times caused by traffic, by using the available features.

The features on Google map were Mixed Transit Options, ETA, Google Popular Time and Bolo app, among others.

The Mixed Transit options, which would soon come up, would help people faced with traffic on daily basis to shorten or ease process by driving or cycling as the case might be before walking the remain few metres to work.

The Share your Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) helps you share the traffic process so that family could monitor your progress as well and have an estimated time of your arrival.
